Hello, my name is Arki!
I am a very cute female kelpie who turns 6 on Christmas Eve.
My mum loves me very much however, she has been my sole carer for some time now, works full time and travels a lot for work. Mum says she can’t give me the life she thinks I deserve – a family of people that love me as much as she does, lawn or paddocks for me to run in, maybe even a swimming hole I can jump in whenever I want & potentially a brother or sister – wow – whilst I love my mum, this life sure sounds great.
A year ago I got injured, I was doing my special party trick….. running and jumping and twirling around & I tore my Achilles. My mum was given the option to either take me to surgery or physio and rehab. She was told that surgery was quite risky so we decided to opt for the rehab option.
We got a special support boot made and I took to walking in it really well. I can walk in it, run in it and even swim in it….. I LOVE swimming and can even swim in the surf. We have spent the past year going to hydro therapy, laser therapy, physio…. My leg is now stable, I don’t think it will ever fix right up but I can live a good full life with the help of my boot.
Mum says I am cheeky, playful, energetic, cuddly when I’m tired and smart as a tack!
I am a very good guard dog & bark at people that enter the house, once mum show’s me that they are friendly, I back off. Some times when I am on a lead I growl at other dogs – not all of them, just the ones that I don’t like…. Mum scolds me for this but I feel vulnerable when I am on the lead some times.
I LOVE my play group, I get picked up some afternoons and go to the park with the group…. I love being social with them, my best friend is Sue the corgi – everyone laughs that the Kelpie and the Corgi could be best friends.
Mum says I am obsessed with balls…. But isn’t every Kelpie?
I have had all of my vaccinations & health check ups and besides my little leg I am a bill of health. I am desexed and micro chipped.
🏡 Arki’s Ideal Home:
✅ A large space to run and play
✅ Another K9 companion in the household would be ok
✅ Someone who enjoys interactive play and engagement
✅ A home where Arki can have access to indoors
Mum says if we find the right home, my new family might let her visit occasionally or they may need her to take me when they go on holidays, which she is more than willing to do if it suits my new family. She is also happy to fund some of my medical bills, cover any costs associated with my injury.
If you think I will fit in with your family why don’t you give mum, Niki a call on 📞 0487 585 877 and she can tell you more about me.
Love Arki
